Wallace Wattles introduces that the first step toward getting rich is to think the way you want to think. This does not sound so hard to do but he continues saying that to think what you want to think is to think TRUTH, regardless of appearances. Everyone is capable of thinking truth but it takes far more effort than thinking as suggested by appearances. He even states that to think truth requires the expenditure of more power than any other work man is called upon to perform.
I tend to analyze (or over-analyze) what people said or did to seek the reasoning behind their statements or actions. I also tend to speak of too much truth, or at least what I think is trute, sometimes resulting in offending others. To maintain trouble-free relationships with people around you, most of the people just say what is expected or what would please the others. This may distort the truth and you may lose the sight of truth unless your third eye is open. I believe that I have been thinking the way Wattles suggests here. It does require a lot of energy to figure out what is going on behind what appears in front of your eyes. Besides, what you consider is truth may not be so to others, but you have to keep faith to what YOU think is truth.
When I was back in Japan where the majority is heavily influenced by the cultural ethics or superiors’ opinions, it was not so easy to think without getting any influence by “appearances”. (Plus, I was younger.) I am very grateful that now, living with my mentor/husband, I can think freely in the way I want to think.
