Never Break the Chain

I learned last night the productivity tip of my beloved comedian, Jerry Seinfeld; write everyday.  His method is writing a new material every single day and crossing off the day on his calendar with a big red X.  The essence of this method is not to break the chain - keep writing daily no matter what.  That is a big commitment since it is very easy to give an excuse or two not to write that day.  Once you stop writing, however, you will lose the momentum; longer you swift away from the routine, harder it will get to return to where you were.

Besides, doing something everyday gives you confidence in whatever you do because you are showing your passion and commitment by acting on it on daily-basis.  That is something ANYONE can do but FEW stick to.  I would say this is the difference between a miracle-maker and a day-dreamer: The universe treats you fair after all.

As my year 2011's resolution is to "write everyday", I will make sure to cross off the day when I publish a new post (or work on a script), without breaking the chain.
